Annual Day Celebrations

SRI (Society for Rural Improvement) celebrated its 23rd Annual Day on 20th Decmber 2019.
Sri. K. Krishnankutty, Minister of Water Resources of Kerala State inaugurated the function. Sri. K. Babu, M.L.A, Dr. Shashi Taroor, M.P were also present to witness the glorious annual day of SRI. Dr. Prabhakar, Founder and Chairman of SRI, Dr. Sudhodhanan, Trustee and other distinguished guests facilitated all the members of SRI and Sri Vidhyalaya. Students of Sri Vidhyalaya exhibited colourful cultural programs on this occasion.
On this occasion scholarship for the students were distributed and also honoured old women.
Abhijit Banerjee wins Nobel Prize

Abhijit Banerjee, his wife Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer jointly won the 2019 Nobel Economics Prize “for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty.
“The research conducted by this year’s Laureates has considerably improved our ability to fight global poverty. In just two decades, their new experiment-based approach has transformed development economics, which is now a flourishing field of research,” said the Nobel committee in a statement.
Banerjee, 58, was educated at the University of Calcutta, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Harvard University, where he received his PhD in 1988.
